I am so thrilled to be teaching Math to every Grade 6 Student at DA Ferguson. For the 2014-15 school year, I am also the homeroom teacher for 6W and the Learning Support Teacher for the Grade 6 Team. I look forward to the year ahead where our students will be actively engaged in learning opportunities that recognize individual learning styles. Students will learn to communicate, explore, and apply with practice and modelling their experiences in making connections with the Math concepts and objectives. This will be done through problem solving, communication, applying procedures and understanding concepts. These 4 areas are the key compontents to Mathematical Literacy and enhancing real understanding.
Students and myself are members of the classroom community where we will demonstrate mutual respect, take risks, evaluate and apply information to solving problems while making decisions and learning successfully together.
"Community building is on going, where everyone feels they are a part of what happens in the classroom and may perform better because of encouragement from their peers."
