About Me

My name is Nicole Kusick and I am extremely excited to join the amazing staff and students at D.A. Ferguson this year!

I am passionate about teaching, working with youths and Social Studies. Grade 8 social studies is of particular interest in part because I lived in Japan for three years as an assistant English language teacher in a Middle School of 300 students in a small town in Gifu prefecture. Thanks to my time in Japan I am familiar with Japanese language, history and culture. I have taught the grade 8 Social curriculum in the past and am equally as eager to share my love and enthusiasm for the historical worldviews of the Renaissance and Spanish conquest.

Since 2012 I have had the unique privilege of teaching a grade 1-9 class of 30 students at a Hutterite Colony school in the Horizon School Division. Before that, after graduating from the University of Lethbridge, I was fortunate enough to work as the English as a Second Language Drop-in Centre program coordinator at the Taber and District Community Adult Learning Association , so I'm glad to return to this fantastic community.
