The first four pencil sketches were created after the students were taught how to draw a portrait from a step by step demonstration. After they completed the lesson, they took their Wall of Fame pictures and drew a contour drawing first of their face. This had to be in proportion using measurements and placements of the facial features. Then they were to observe the lighting on the face and enhance the values (ranging from 1-5 on a B pencil lead), copying those same values on their own image. The result is Rylee's, Cassidy's, Krystal's and Paige's image.
The last four coloured sketches were taking that same assignment but using the theory of Cubism where all subject matter can be broken down into shapes called Shards. They depicted this with the different shapes and selected colors. This was found in Aaron's, Jordan's, Shanel's and Jovian's. They had to limit the colors to adjacent colors on the colour wheel and use only 4 of them.
